During the pandemic, a lot of people use games to stay connection to their friends. Online multiplayer games like Stardew Valley or Counter-Strike are a great way to spend some quality with your mates when the four walls of your apartment gets a little much. Table top games like D&D adapted to this change and moved online too. Providing hours of make-belief imaginary fun to people all over the world, in the comfort of their own home. I get it. It's convenient, It's comfortable and going outside is overrated on a Friday night after work. 

However I can't help but feel that there was some of the magic that is now lost because of the screen barrier. There is something so visceral and immersive when everyone is sitting at the table. The cling clang of the dice rolling. The slight smirk from the DM. The yelling from your teammates as you pull a card from the Deck of Many things. I don't know about you but I miss that. 

So here at Card Merchant Takapuna, we are doing something about that. For the first time, in a very very long time, we are bringing back a D&D night that is open for everyone to join. We are going to start slow, try to drum up a community first and hopefully it will grow into something more. Let's bring back the laughter and make D&D great again.
